- 1 Ready made pie shell (deep dish if frozen)
- 6 small-medium granny smith apples, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 450.
- In large bowl, mix flour, sugar and ground cinnamon together. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of this mixture onto the bottom of the prepared pie crust.
- Toss the apple slices in the remaining mixture, then layer them into the pie crust.
- Pour the cream over the apples in the pie crust.
- Bake at 450 for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 and bake for 60-70 additional minutes, until the apples are tender (test with sharp knife).
- Cool and serve with more whipped cream. Store refrigerated.
