Ingredients
- 1 cup uncooked rice, washed
- 4 cups water plus 1 can chicken broth OR
- 6 cups water plus 1 Tbsp Better Than Buillion
- 1/2 tsp salt
- sesame oil and/or soy sauce to taste
- mix ins: cooked chicken, BBQ pork, pork fu, abalone, squid, calamari, green onions, kimchi, etc.
Bring water/broth to a boil in a large pot. Once it is boiling, add the rinsed rice and stir once. Let it come to a boil and turn down the heat to a simmer. Cover the pot with a little gap and cook for 25 minutes. Do not stir during this cooking time.
After 25 minutes, if the rice seems tender, start whisking it. Whisk for 5 minutes, breaking up the rice until it reaches a porridge consistency. Add salt, soy sauce, and sesame oil to taste.
